This piece was made for the Battle of the Beadsmith Challenge. A group of 80 contestants from around the world participated in the 'Battle'. They were each paired against another beader, for 40 match ups. There will be 5 rounds to determine the winner, judged and juried by contestant peers and a list of 'outside' judges (noncontestants).
My piece was made with a hoard of Vintage German Hyacinth AB cabochons with a couple of Swarovski's thrown in for good measure. The collar is bead
embroidered and stitched on microsuede, front and back, and sewn with a flat metal insert for stability and strength. The closure is a pairing of eye hooks beneath the fringed cabochon.
Toho Permanent Finish Gold is the main seed bead color, with Miyuki orange ab, silver-lined flame red and a berry color to bring out the pinks of the ab's.
The longest length in the front measures 8 1/2" from the top to the bottom of the focal pendant. It will fit comfortably on a 15" neck.
and yes, the name of this piece was inspired by Ted Nugent's song: Wango Tango.
